Bright Ideas! My Adhesive Whiteboard Table!


I am so excited to link up with 186 of my favorite blogging buddies to share one of the BEST things I did this year! It's saved me tons of time, copies, and the kids absolutely LOVE it!

It's my adhesive whiteboard table!

We went from a boring old blah brown table.....

To this:

!!!!!

I got the adhesive whiteboard roll from Amazon, stuck it to the table, sealed the sides with a little duct tape, and viola! My own little think tank!

Students use it during math to work out problems, during writing if they're having trouble spelling a word, and during guided reading to create graphic organizers and show their thinking! And NO copies or a zillion post its (anymore!)

      Hi Sandy! Did you have a seam, and join more than one piece? My table is about 36" deep. I don't think I can cover it with one piece. :(

      I didn't even ask- I just did it and figured if it was a problem I could apologize later ;-) I was surprised at how easily it will peel off too, and it doesn't leave any gunk or adhesive behind! :)

      I was actually surprised at how well it erased! It's just like an actual whiteboard. And you can even use the spray to help clean it up! :)

    Great idea! I also have a question. Do the edges peel? If so, how do you prevent that from happening? I could see my kids picking at the edges.

      The edges did start peeling- just from everyday use. But I set up rules before and let the kids know peeling and picking is NEVER okay ;-) It's lasted about six months so far!

      One roll was enough for one table :) I did have some extra left over so I threw it up on a wall and instant whiteboard as a word work station for kids to write on. :)

    Like the stools at your Guided Reading table...IKEA, right? Would like to get same stools as they stack nicely. But my guided reading table is only 25 inches high and I am teaching a grade 2/3 split...just want the students to fit correctly at table w stools....how high/tall is your guided reading table?
